Name change? Empty Name change?

Post  Admin Fri May 06, 2011 5:57 pm

Some people say the name should be changed because the name WASP already exists in North America. Any suggestion? Should we keep things as they are?

FISP = Federation of International Subbuteo Players
or
FISA = Federation of International Subbuteo Associations (with six continental associations)
Let´s go the whole hog

I think that words 'table' and 'football' should be together.
How about World Amateur Table Football Association (WATFA) ?

WTF (World Tablefootball Federation). It (wtf) would certainly come across a lot in the internet...

ISTFPA (International Subbuteo Table Football Players Association).

Depends on what is wanted. Short name or is longer ok? What information (Subbuteo? World/International? Players? etc)? Should it be possible to pronounce?

I prefer Amateur is used to make clear there is a difference with FISTF.
WATFA will do fine if WASPA needs to be changed.

IASPA? (International instead of world)

IAASP? (international association of amateur subbuteo players)

Association football is the international term for football (soocer) as we know it in europe. In the states football is the game played with hands!

How about now?

Stefano De Francesco @ SN Forum wrote:Clearly mark the purchase of Subbuteo will also have the right to regulate the use of the name that today is too often used in improper way also. Here's an example to understand this better. Also our forums have to be authorized by Netcam to be able to call Subbuteonewsforum.

It's a kind of blackmail. I just ignore this. I don't believe all clubs such as "Subbuteo Club Stembert" will ask any kind of permission.

It's a bit tricky question. I would think that, as it is the common name of the game also outside the products, it can be used in some ways. But what comes to products, it prohibits the use of the name.

But again, a thing that requires money, if there becomes a problem. Like the Madrid meeting etc.
