Sydney International Open - 2010

After consulting with a the ATSA committee, we would like to announce our intentions to host a FISTF International Open on Saturday 20th November, to be held in Sydney, venue TBC.

It is hoped that the tournament will run from 9.00 - 17.00hrs which obviously depends on numbers, but i would hope that everyone will play at least 3 games.

To add a bit of spice to the weekend, Perth Glory (my team) will be playing Sydney FC on Sunday 21st at the Sydney Football Stadium and the Glory fans annual tour of duty is this game. In the next few weeks i hope to get a few of the Glory fans involved and maybe even playing in the tournament. Current numbers suggest 100 fans are making the trip from Perth, so anything is possible.

This email is also going out to our good friends in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, New Zealand & Sweden and i will also post on the Subbuteo forums to see if there are any English lads coming out early for the Cricket.

As we may require boards & astros, please let me know if any of you can help out.

The event is 4 1/2 months away, so it gives everyone time to organise flights, hotels etc.

Please pass on to anyone i may have missed, closing date for entry is 13th November 2010 and venue will be confirmed once finalised.

So, get your figures out and start polishing those little plastic men.

due to a number of very unfortunate incidents and circumstances, the A.T.S.A. has agreed to postpone the upcoming event in Sydney until further notice.
A date is being looked at for next year.

I personally apologise to all those who have arranged travel from overseas and within Australia.

Once again, i am sorry, but unfortunately, there are more important things in life than Table Football at this time.
