Re: Major of Mattersburg 2012
Hi Vincent,
I guess that question can only be answerred by those players/teams who didn't come!
I think one reason for sure is the date of the WC in july.
At least it was positive to see David Vacke again at a FISTF tournament.

You're right Heinz. I think we have to think positive! I believe the date issue isn't good because players can already collect points for next year!!!

those who attended at the meeting in Palermo 2011 agreed to hold the World Cups after Athens 2012 (...) always on the first weekend of September.
It seems as if somebody has forgotten this agreement or somebody is just ignoring it...!

Re: Major of Mattersburg 2012
Do you really think we are in a world where somebody could think he's over the law because he has an important position in the FISTF Board? What a nasty boy you are...
Re: Major of Mattersburg 2012
Vincent, the individual players are not really interested in collecting points and for the teams there isn't any sportive motivation to play tournaments, because the only benefit they can reach is to be seeded at the EC or the Major of Mons.
People from Greece, Finland, Portugal, Malta or Spain (sorry if I forgot another country in the same situation) are too far away from the rest, even the Austrians have to travel a lot with plane or have long drives if we want to play big tournaments. In those regions where enough tournaments are played the players don't travel to countries like the above mentioned, a positive exception is Stembert.
Finally a new way has to be found, that the number of tournaments will decrease, but at the same time those tournaments which are organized for the "weaker" players have to be continued, maybe not as much as today, but they shouldn't be killed totally.
Finally I think the problems are still the same like the years before, those who told us to be able to solve those problems in a better way, created only new problems in my opinion.

Re: Major of Mattersburg 2012
I found my personal solution:
- I don't organize FISTF events anymore;
- I don't play FISTF tournament anymore;
- I let those who care do the job. I only continue my personal statistics for my records but I don't share them.
For me FISTF died in Frankfurt anyway.

Which is exactly what I've meant by writing
"... it's probably less accepting than just being demoralized ...?!!!"
in a different thread. And my personal impression is: you are not alone !!!
