WC cancelled?

Looks like FISTF has officially cancelled the WC in greece. So what will happen now?

There is nothing official. Only an outrageous personal email with purpose to insult our country. We will do a lot of talking through the forum the next days.

What is happening is unacceptable. Our community deserves to know what's going on. No world cup means a total mess for our sport. There is too much confusion now and we can't be happy about it!

Who took that decision?
I don't know anything official.

The president sent a mail to the greek association sayin gthe WC is cancelled "due to the economical crisis".

I know the Greeks experienced some problems to host the WC but I never expected the event would be cancelled!

Don´t mix up things. Even if Athens will not be host city of FISTF WC 2012, it is not clear the WC 2012 is cancelled at all. Maybe a substitute city and place will be announced soon by the current BoD ad interim.

On the offical site of FISTF under the section "calender" you´ll find Athens still as host city of FISTF WC. You can book flights and accomodation for the 3rd weekend of July right into the arms of FISTF BoD-member Koutromanos if you want, but please don´t forget to contact Leonidas first, to asked him for confirmation the WC will really take place in Hellas ...and the Major-tournament as well.

Sorry for being sarcastic. Hellas shouldn´t deserve it. But finally this all is a consequence of misusesing FISTF since two years by some wrong persons who took over the power with the wish to end the era Coppenolle. In frontline: Collins, Garnier, De Francesco, Capponi and of course Koutromanos. Did I forget someone?

Well, the WC is now officially moved to Manchester (England).

The Board is going to tell us it's fantastic because the event will be played int he Manchester City stadium. And of course players will have to accept the total lack of ethics proved by the Board.

Poor FISTF...
