Re: Resignation of Luis
Nothing is/ was legitimate with this current BoD. That´s the biggest problem over all. Therefore all the desicion they produce are dubious in my eyes. FISTF is still in troubled waters and without a solid leadership. Sorry to say, but since 2010, FISTF is just a playball of not-Vincent-Coppenolle-people without success in any way. I was always a Coppenolle-supporter and I know why. I don´t see FISTF now in a better position after his deposition. Au contraire...
We need Vincent back as President and have just to forget the last two years as sad expierience in FISTF history. That´s my point of view...

I'm sure in a few days Luis will give us some good reading on his new blog at http://sportstablefootballblog.blogspot.pt/
Re: Resignation of Luis
Not knowing the rasons, I still feel sorry for Luís, as I would for anyone who has to resign from his targets. He spent incredible amount of hours for FISTF, and really wanted to change things for the better from within. Sadly, as I and many others expected, that didn't happen.
Without Luís and also without Gary Pearson - who also made incredible and impossible effort almost alone during the World Cup, as you can read from the british forum - I really do wonder who will do the work at FISTF now.
The economic crisis and more expensive travelling costs in the future (due to higher oil prices) mean FISTF should develope a strategy which takes those into account. The tour is already suffering with low foreign participant numbers in tournaments, and the ranking benefits the rich even more than previously. If the FISTF doesn't even have a board making the daily work, what chance they will come up with anything regarding these issues.
And when FISTF prioritices making money from developers over competent planning and running of a federation in ruins, I can only say don't hold your breath while waiting for real visions from this board.
I've given up hope long ago (easy for an outsider), and I can only see TF going forward under some other banner than FISTF.
Last, I think it's only right to lift a hat for Luís for the work he did, whether we agreed with the whole board or not.

How dramatic.
As far as I understand Louis gave up after a polemic post from Piero Capponi appeared on subbuteoforum.it. I might be wrong tough -- just thinking aloud
The war of the buttons goes on and on. Kids have more fun at bickering against each other than at playing subbuteo.
The only prediction that came true in the last few years was Thossa's. He once told me Mediterranean people wouldn't be constant enough as to hold FISTF together. Well then, Stefano and Piero proved him right.

Re: Resignation of Luis
I don't think Piero's post is the reason.
Something is telling me there are other reasons and I wouldn't be surprised to read soon that the WC in Athens will be moved to another place (I'm almost ready to bet on which city).

I was trying to use melodramatic style
However I don't think you can deny that what you quoted is true (not my emotions, but anyway). He spent time, he wanted to change things in FISTF working for FISTF, and he couldn't change things. Whatever the reasons, this is what happened.

I also just thought aloud. What little knowledge I have (about Luís, the letter by Garnier etc), I drew some conclusions, which can quite well be just out of a hat.
For me it seems far fetched that Luís would act so rashly after being so upset by a post - not in any way to be regarded as more polemic (for me it wasn't polemic, if it's the text he posted here also) than we have seen before - by a man outside the BoD, especially as the post is not even directed at Luís work in FISTF. Your guess is as good as mine.

I would be ready to hold your bet as long as your predicted city does not start with a 'P' ...
Concerning the next year's World Cup I absolutely share your feelings that the 'decisive' members of the current Board already have changed their
Plans
as
roumours
indicate
since...
Well, since when do we have that impression...?

Re: Resignation of Luis
Yes, a city that could be something like P...S (!)
I heard rumors just after the world cup in Manchester.
But of course rumors are only rumors and if the WC has to be moved, it will be only because Greeks are unable to host the tournament, of course!!!

You mean, Pireaus has still a chance to host the World Cup?
Well I doubt that and think there are already other
Plans
As
Roumours
Indicate
Since Manchester (latest)

Well, in the current situation FISTF will await the output of the CL/EL before changing the WC location to PirmasenS.
