Which material should be used in WASPA tournaments?
Re: Key idea of WASPA: material
If people just look at any other world wide game or even a sport they notice that there is various equipment available for players to choose from. I think there shouldn't be limitations to prevent people using the type of equipment they like most. Measuring should be enough.
Re: Key idea of WASPA: material
I didn't vote, because it's somewhere in between. Too much material, too many things to control, too difficult. But choices have to be available.
A very important question is what direction the game should evolve to. Some modern bases make the game too slow, so either a shot clock (1 minute or something) would be needed, or some other small rule change. I was falling asleep as a referee in a junior game in the WC, when the players used 20 flicks to move the ball 5cm in the center of the field, because they were avoiding mistakes, and the bases made it easy.
So material, especially bases, has many aspects to consider. Variation is good, but all material have to serve the purpose of the game.
